What It Is
The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has scheduled the "2026 Cheonggyecheon Water Splash" along a 120-meter section of Cheonggyecheon Stream, stretching from Cheonggyecheon Waterfall past Mojeongyo Bridge to Gwangtonggyo Bridge. SMG says the event was first held last year, when it drew approximately 50,000 residents and domestic and international tourists, according to the agency.
Dates and Hours
The event runs for 10 days, from Friday, July 31, 2026, to Sunday, August 9, 2026, according to SMG. Daily hours are 11 AM to 6 PM. SMG says operations may be temporarily suspended if it rains.
Amenities
SMG says a free aqua-shoe rental booth is set up at the venue. Chairs, tables, and shade canopies have been installed along the waterside path. SMG also describes this year's edition as including expanded visitor amenities and strengthened hygiene and safety measures compared with the prior edition.
Photo Contest
According to SMG, the Best Photo Contest asks visitors to use a QR code posted on the venue's information banners to submit a photo taken during their visit. SMG says entrants are selected through a draw to receive prizes.
