What's Covered

  • Included: Seoul-based subway lines, partial Gyeonggi-serviced subway routes, Seoul-licensed city and town buses, Ttareungi, and Hangang Bus.
  • Excluded: Sinbundang Line, subway lines outside Seoul, intercity/airport buses, and non-Seoul-licensed buses.
  • The card provides unlimited use of subway, bus, Ttareungi (Seoul Bike), and Hangang Bus for 30 days after charging with a one-time fare.

Where to Buy

  • Physical Climate Cards are available at new card vending machines in subway stations across Seoul Metro Lines 1–8, including between Seoul Station and Cheongnyangni Station on Line 1.
  • They are also available at convenience stores near subway stations on Line 9, the Ui-Sinseol Line, and the Sillim Line.
  • Since March 20, 2025, Climate Cards can be purchased and recharged using international credit and debit cards, including short-term passes.

Charging and Pricing

  • Cards cannot be charged in advance.
  • 30-day Pass (Ttareungi not included): KRW 62,000
  • 30-day Pass (Ttareungi included): KRW 65,000
  • 30-day Pass (Hangang Bus included): KRW 67,000
  • 30-day Pass (Ttareungi and Hangang Bus included): KRW 70,000
  • 1-day Pass (Ttareungi and Hangang Bus not included): KRW 5,000
  • The 30-day prepaid Climate Card can be recharged until August 31, 2026.
  • Existing Climate Cards can still be recharged with short-term passes (1-, 2-, 3-, 5-, and 7-day passes).

Using Ttareungi

  • Registering the card number on the Tmoney GO app allows the Climate Card to be used for two-hour Ttareungi passes during the validity period.

Refunds

  • A refund must be requested before the end of the use period, either as a refund to an account or a partial cancellation of the card payment; the same terms apply to short-term passes.
  • Refunds are not available after the expiration date, including for normal, lost, or defective cards, and a refund may be difficult if the card is not in the user's own name.
  • Foreigners without a bank account in Korea can visit Tmoney headquarters to receive a refund.

Upcoming Change: Climate Pass

  • A new product called Climate Pass is scheduled for release on September 1, 2026.
  • Climate Pass is available to Seoul residents.
  • To apply, get the card through a participating card issuer, then register it on the K-Pass website (https://korea-pass.kr/).
  • An account can be signed up for using a foreigner registration number.
  • Benefits take effect the following month.
