- That figure is up 7 percent from a year earlier
- It represents an increase of more than 20 percent from July 2024
Cooling Shelters in Seoul
Seoul city operates 4,034 cooling shelters. About 70 percent of these operate on a membership basis, while 202 were explicitly designated as open to everyone.
Long-Term Stays at the Airport
Incheon Airport Operations Service manages airport operations. Long-term stays are defined as two weeks or more, and the number of people staying long-term at the airport has ranged from dozens to as many as 200. The Airport Facilities Act provides the legal authority for issuing departure notices.
